Terry Wendt started observing and understanding urban environments early in his life.  Riding the bus around Milwaukee with his dad, who had lost his central vision from an illness, Terry learned to identify places and read signs. 

With this inducement, Terry learned to read at age 3 and enjoyed making drawings of the places they visited.  He became known as the family’s “prekindergarten architect”, leading to a professional certification as an adult architect 20 years later.

During these growing-up years, Terry got a Brownie camera to capture scenes quicker than he could draw them.  He focused his photos on friends and others doing ordinary things in grade school and then high school, along with places that expressed some variation of compositional quality.

With interest in two things – urban places and people interacting within them – Terry is constantly seeking, finding, and capturing photographs of fascinating subjects, enriching his expansive photography collection.
